E-commerce Tracking

Sample project

E-commerce Tracking Setup

A sample setup showing how Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, Conversions API and GA4 are configured and tested for an online store.

This is a sample project. It shows how I would approach this kind of brief and is not a client result.

Problem

A store's ad platforms and analytics report different numbers, purchases are missing or duplicated, and nobody trusts the data enough to make decisions.

Strategy

Audit what is currently tracked, define the events that matter across the shopping journey, then rebuild tracking so every platform receives consistent data.

Campaign Setup

A clean Google Tag Manager container, a planned set of e-commerce events from product view to purchase, and platform tags for Meta and Google that reuse the same event data.

Tracking

Meta Pixel and Conversions API with event de-duplication, GA4 purchase and funnel events, and Google Ads conversions, each tested before going live.

Optimization

Ongoing checks for broken events after site changes, and a short report comparing platform numbers against store orders.
